Aluminized Clothing
MUSSE supplies aluminized protective clothing from Taiwan for steel mills, casting shops, heat treating operations and foundries. The aluminized face reflects radiant heat rather than absorbing it, and the range covers the body as a system rather than as separate items.
Full coverage is the hood, coat, trousers, gaiters and boots together, for sustained work where the operator moves around a heat source. Partial coverage is the apron, sleeves and gloves, for front-facing work at a fixed position — the open back keeps the wearer noticeably cooler, and that is the trade being made.
Garments use a woven modified acrylic fibre over a fibreglass core yarn, aluminized on one side, and are specified to EN ISO 11612. Gloves use an aramid fibre blend over a fibreglass core yarn with an aluminium laminate, and the 14 in and 16 in versions are specified to EN 407 and EN 388.

It depends on whether the operator turns. Work that moves around a heat source exposes the back for part of the cycle and needs the coat, trousers, hood, gaiters and boots. Front-facing work at a fixed position is well served by the apron, sleeves and gloves, and the open back keeps the wearer far cooler over a shift.
Q: What standards does the range carry?
The garments are specified to EN ISO 11612, the clothing standard for protection against heat and flame. The hood window is specified separately to EN 166, EN 170 and ANSI Z87.1. The 14 in and 16 in gloves are specified to EN 407 for thermal risks and EN 388 for mechanical risks. No EN standard is stated for the 20 in glove.
Q: Which item closes the gap between trousers and boots?
